In late 2009 the world of House Music was introduced to Leonard Strickland also known as Big Strick. Growing up on the west side of Detroit, Strick was influenced by the party scene of the 80’s and 90’s. It is no secret that Big Strick is the older cousin of Omar S, both coming from a colorful music background. By 2009, Omar S made a name for himself and gave Big Strick a chance to show case his musical talents. In late 2009 Strick’s first record was pressed off of the FHXE label titled “7 Days”.
After releasing two more LP’s on the FHXE imprint, Strick branched out to his creating his own label, 7 Days Entertainment. 7 Days Entertainment was launched in 2011. Now in 2014, so far, the label has 9 LP releases with contributing artists such as Reckless Ron Cook, Omar S, Don Q, Tony Coates and Generation Next.
The latest release from 7 days is a CD release with Big Strick and his son Generation Next titled ‘Like Father Like Son’ (with vinyl to follow). Big Strick has just wrapped up a European tour playing the likes of clubs such as the Panorama Bar in Berlin, The Breakfast Club in Israel, and the Dude club in Milan Italy.
